How do we work?

The Young Urban Engineers work with contracted Young Professionals who are undergraduate students. Therefore, the maximum amount of hours worked per week for a student has been set at 8 hours / week. Project can range from 4 weeks - 12 months. The Project Team consists of 1-4 Young Professionals depending on the amount of hours required per week. The Project Team works independently on the project conducting their work and meetings with the client. The Management Team is made up out of the Executive Board. They manage the projects using the following phases:

Phase 1 - Project Acquisition

The project management does the acquisition of new projects by being the first line of contact for potential clients. They set-up the first meetings an share a Project Proposal with Budget estimates to be discussed. This continues until both parties are happy with the proposal to continue to the next phase.

Phase 2 - Project Team Compiling (2 weeks)

Next, the Project Team will be compiled using an application process. Students can apply and are invited for an interview to see who would match the project the best. If wished, the client could be involved in this process. When the Project Team is established, a meeting will be held with all parties to get to know each other and setup an expectation document.

Phase 3 - Project Execution (4 - 52 weeks)

This is the longest phase where the project will be executed. The Project Team will work independently and provides updates during meetings with the client on a previously determined bases. The Management Team has monthly meetings with both the Project Team and Client to discuss progress and questions from either side.

Phase 4 - Project Finalization (1 week)

During the last week of the project, the Project Team hands in their deliverables accompanied by a final presentation for the client. A final meeting with all parties will be held to officially complete the project.
